Third Annual MLK Day of Service: Feminine Product Drive

For the third consecutive year, several Sioux Falls organizations, including Sioux Falls Up & Coming, are partnering to answer President Barack Obama’s call to action by participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 19.

The organizations will once again be collecting feminine product donations for Banquet Sioux Falls, joining hundreds of thousands of Americans across the country in volunteer service.

The cause is inspired by a woman who had come into The Banquet with her husband and baby. She was in desperate need of feminine products, and was wearing her baby’s last diaper to get by.

In the past two years, the collective group has donated over 25,000 individually wrapped items to The Banquet.

Feminine product donations will be accepted during regular business hours through Friday, January 16th at the following locations:

Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. at 230 S Phillips Avenue, Suite 102
Ipso Gallery at Fresh Produce at 400 N Main Avenue, Suite 100
Meso at 220 S Phillips Avenue

Donations can also be dropped from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during an event on the January 19 Day of Service. The event will take place at Fresh Produce at 400 N Main Avenue, Suite 100.
